Peh Chin Hua is the executive chairman of White Group,
a holding company with properties and business interests in China
and Singapore. From 1992 to 2005, he was the executive chairman
of Singapore's public-listed Dragon Land Limited (now renamed Evergro), with real estate projects in various cities
in China, such as Qingdao, Tianjin, Changzhou, Jiangyin, Shenyang
He was also a Singapore Member of Parliament from 1988
to 2001. He held the seat of Jalan Besar Group Representation Constituency,
winning three consecutive elections with the People's Action Party.
After retiring from politics
in 2001, the entrepreneur went back to school and graduated with
an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the National
University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002. He is also an alumnus of
Singapore's premium Chinese schools: Nan Chiau Primary, Ai Tong,
The Chinese High and the River Valley High.
Today, he continues to serve
the society in the arts, education, sports, labour unions and charities.
He is adviser to the Singapore Association of Writers, Singapore
Stevedores' Union and the Singapore Tae Kwon-Do Gymnasium. He is
also adviser to school alumni groups like River Valley High, Nan
Chiau Primary and Ai Tong. And he serves on the board of the NUS
He is a Buddhist who contributes
to Singapore's multi-religious community with his advisory roles
at Buddhist organisations like the Renci Hospital and Medical Centre and the Manjusri Secondary School.
As a prominent member of the
Chinese community in Singapore, he is adviser to the Singapore Chinese
Physicians' Association, the Association for Promoting Chinese Medicine
and the Singapore Literature Society. He also holds numerous positions
in various clans, including the Peh Clan Association.
He is married with three children
and four grandchildren, and lives in Singapore with his family.
